Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Receptionist/Medical Records Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. You will also manage and maintain accurate medical records, supporting clinical documentation, coding, and health information management. Your expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical administrative support will be crucial to providing exceptional patient service and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate documentation review and record keeping Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information with integrity and professionalism Review medical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical protocols Assist with filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and administrative support tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette, managing inquiries related to appointments, billing, or medical records Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; experience with electronic health records management is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and health insurance processes including Medicare is essential Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and medical billing software Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in person Experience working in a dental clinic or similar healthcare setting is advantageous Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations Prior clinic experience involving medical records management or healthcare administrative duties is highly desirable Join us in delivering compassionate care through efficient office management and meticulous recordkeeping. From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
