Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Front Office Aid to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Your proactive approach will support smooth clinic operations, facilitate accurate documentation, and uphold the highest standards of patient service. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and assist with insurance verification processes using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix Schedule patient appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software and maintain accurate appointment calendars Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and proper documentation review practices Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims processing Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure electronic health records (EHR) management aligns with health information management standards Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office or clinical setting is highly preferred, especially in dental or hospital environments Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth is essential Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette and professional demeanor in all interactions Demonstrated clerical skills including typing (10 key), filing, data entry, and use of Microsoft Office applications Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of dental terminology or clinic experience is advantageous for dental office roles Join us to be part of a dynamic healthcare environment where your organizational skills and compassionate service make a real difference!
