Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline clinic operations, ensure accurate documentation, and foster a welcoming environment for all patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures. Schedule patient appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system. Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical billing, and handle collections with accuracy and professionalism. Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and care plans. Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and take detailed messages. Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR). Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic flow and timely patient care delivery. Uphold confidentiality standards according to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical information. Experience Prior clinic experience or medical office management experience preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare processes. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to type 10-key accurately is essential. Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor in fast-paced healthcare settings. Knowledge of health insurance procedures and clinical confidentiality policies is essential for success in this role. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
