PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT

Position Summary The Radiology Unit Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Radiology Department, helping ensure efficient patient flow, accurate scheduling, effective communication, and a positive patient experience. This position works closely with radiologists, technologists, nurses, providers, patients, and other hospital departments. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Answer telephone calls and respond to patient, provider, and staff inquiries. Schedule and coordinate radiology examinations according to department procedures as needed. Coordinate and assist with patient flow throughout the department. Communicate with ordering providers and hospital departments regarding exams, scheduling, and patient needs. Monitor patient arrivals to support efficient department operations. Maintain required documentation and electronic records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Assist technologists and other clinical staff as needed. Follow hospital, departmental, HIPAA, safety, and confidentiality policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Maintain CPR certification LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
