Job Description

Our optometry practice is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and experienced Receptionist to join our team. The Receptionist will be responsible for performing various technical and administrative duties to assist our optometrists in providing high-quality eye care services to our patients. This will include being the manger of the schedule
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the scheduling of patient examinations and must have excellent customer service Conduct various diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception tests, using advanced diagnostic equipment Collect and record patient medical history, medications, and allergies Provide education to patients on proper contact lens care and hygiene Order and maintain inventory of ophthalmic supplies and materials Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment Assist in processing orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses Schedule patient appointments and provide instructions for pre-testing and preparation Maintain patient records and documentation in an organized and accurate manner Perform other administrative tasks, such as answering phones and processing insurance claims
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited medical technician program or equivalent experience Familiarity in a medical office setting including medical terminology is preferred Knowledge of medical insurances, CPT, ICD-10 and HIPPA guidelines is preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software programs Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays We offer a competitive salary (based on experience) and retirement benefit opportunity, as well as opportunities for professional development and advancement within our practice.
