Schedule appointments accurately, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily operations. Handle all incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, providing information about services, appointment scheduling, and insurance inquiries. Collect and process payments, perform medical collections when necessary, and manage billing tasks aligned with health insurance policies including Medicare and HIPAA compliance. Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical coding procedures including CPT codes, ICD-9/10 codes, ICD coding, and ensure proper documentation review for billing accuracy. Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry using Microsoft Office tools, managing electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining organized patient files. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar dental office support role within a dental or healthcare setting. Familiarity with medical billing processes including medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance claims processing, and Medicare regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone etiquette and in person. Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office applications, and electronic health records management. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and clinical confidentiality policies. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong organizational skills with clerical experience such as filing, documentation review, and office management tasks. Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with health insurance knowledge and medical terminology is advantageous.
