We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team!
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionists under the supervision of the Medical Practice Manager is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients as well as coordinating patient registration, scheduling and other front office tasks.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a commitment to the Viola Startzman Clinic mission and philosophy of care.
  • MedEnt or Meditech experience preferred.
  • Must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot and solve problems creatively.
  • Must be able to work independently with a high level of self motivation and time management, effectively prioritizing tasks and maintaining effective workflow.
  • Must be proficient in computer operations and utilization of electronic medical records.
  • Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to work under stress.
  • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. 2. Acts as a point of contact for all visitors and patients, providing a high level of customer service 3. Verify eligibility and personal information for each patient visit to the clinic; updating the EMR system per clinic policy 4. Check patients into and out of the clinic for various appointments 5. Verify patient insurance information and collection of insurance co-pays 6. Schedules and confirms patient appointments 7. Scans documents and maintains an accurate electronic medical record for patients 8. Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring patient flow 9. Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations 10. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed 11. Responsible for other duties as assigned by office manager.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
  • The ability to stand for periods of time, push, pull and reach, occasionally bend, sit, stoop and stretch
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and medical equipment
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds

ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS
Presence within the clinic may lead to exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Exposure to these conditions is limited for this position as it is non-clinical.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, volunteers, patients, and members of the public on a regular basis.
