Please no calls Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional front desk support and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help create a welcoming environment while managing administrative tasks efficiently. You will handle patient scheduling, insurance verification, medical record management, and coordinate with clinical staff to support quality patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced healthcare setting where your organizational skills and medical knowledge make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Optimantra Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks for Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing procedures Manage patient check-in/check-out processes, including documentation review and data entry Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating care plans Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and handling sensitive documentation securely Support medical coding activities by understanding CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical terminology Organize filing systems for medical records, ensuring easy retrieval and confidentiality Coordinate with clinical staff on appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and care coordination Perform clerical duties such as typing reports, managing office supplies, and supporting office management tasks Prior clinic or healthcare office experience is highly preferred Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient privacy and documentation review Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
