Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join a professional, patient-focused medical practice in Altoona. The position is ideal for someone who already understands the day-to-day responsibilities of a medical front office and can work confidently and independently with patients, insurance information and routine office tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients professionally and provide excellent customer service Check patients in and out Verify and update patient demographics Verify insurance information and coverage Collect copays and other patient payments Maintain accurate patient and insurance information in the practice management system Answer and route telephone calls appropriately Schedule and confirm appointments Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, staff and referring medical offices Assist with other routine front-office responsibilities as needed Requirements Previous front-desk experience in a medical practice or comparable healthcare setting Working knowledge of medical insurance verification and patient demographics Experience collecting copays and patent payments Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills Professional telephone and in-person communication Dependability, punctuality, and attention to detail Comfortable using computers and electronic medical/practice-management systems Ability to work effectively in a small medical-office environment What We Value We place a high priority on professionalism, reliability, accuracy and excellent patient service.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 20.0 per week
