Job Description

Advanced Foot & Ankle Wellness Center is a small, modern podiatry and sports medicine practice seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist / Medical Office Assistant to join our team. This is a permanent part-time position , approximately 15-20 hours per week over 2-3 days , with the potential for additional hours in the future. We are looking for someone who wants a stable, long-term position and enjoys working with patients in a small medical-office environment. The position is primarily front office, but because we are a small team, you will also be cross-trained to assist with basic patient-care and back-office responsibilities when needed. Training is provided. Schedule Approximately 15-20 hours per week over 2-3 days . Our office operates during the following hours:
Monday:
11:15 AM-7:30
PM Wednesday:
7:30 AM-2:30
PM Thursday:
7:30 AM-1:00 PM (every other)
Friday:
7:30 AM-3:30 PM No weekends. We have some flexibility in determining the exact 2-3 day schedule based on the needs of the practice and the availability of the right candidate. Additional hours may become available over time, with the potential to increase to approximately 25-30 hours per week in the future . What You'll DoFront Office Greet and check in patients Check patients out and schedule follow-up appointments Answer phones and assist with scheduling Collect copays, balances, and patient payments Review patient demographics and insurance information Scan insurance cards, identification, referrals, and medical records Assist with insurance eligibility and verification Monitor patient forms for completeness Assist with referrals and medical-record requests Respond to routine patient messages and follow-up needs Maintain accurate information in the electronic medical record Help keep the daily schedule organized and running efficiently Patient Care / Back Office Support After appropriate training, you will also be cross-trained to help the clinical team when needed.
This may include:
Escorting and rooming patients Obtaining basic patient histories and vital signs Preparing treatment rooms Cleaning and resetting rooms between patients Assisting with basic patient flow Preparing supplies for patient care Assisting with basic DME and orthotic workflows after training Maintaining clinical supplies Completing required documentation and checklists accurately Previous clinical experience is not required. We will train the right person. Who We're Looking For We would love to meet someone who is: Dependable and punctual Friendly and comfortable working directly with patients Highly organized and detail-oriented Comfortable with computers and learning new technology Able to multitask while maintaining accuracy Willing to work both at the front desk and assist with patients when needed Proactive and willing to help without needing constant direction Comfortable working as part of a small team Looking for a permanent, long-term part-time position Previous medical-office, dental-office, healthcare, administrative, or customer-service experience is preferred, but podiatry experience is not required . Who We're Looking For The right person will be: Dependable, punctual, and consistent Friendly and professional with patients Highly detail-oriented Comfortable working both at the front desk and directly with patients Willing to learn basic clinical support responsibilities Comfortable using computers and learning electronic medical records Able to multitask without sacrificing accuracy Able to recognize priorities and communicate when assistance is needed Proactive and willing to step in when another team member needs help Comfortable working in a small practice where team members help one another Interested in a permanent, long-term position Previous medical-office, dental-office, healthcare, administrative, or customer-service experience is preferred. Podiatry experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person. Compensation $15-$20 per hour, depending on relevant experience, training needs, and demonstrated skills.
Pay:
