This energetic position combines technical expertise in ophthalmology with compassionate customer service, ensuring patients receive comprehensive optical solutions while maintaining smooth clinic operations. You'll be at the forefront of patient interactions, eyewear fittings, and medical record management, all within a fast-paced, supportive environment committed to excellence. Duties Assist patients with selecting and fitting eyewear, including spectacle lens dispensing and frame adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and style Conduct eye examinations by measuring vital signs, assessing visual acuity, and performing basic physiology and anatomy assessments relevant to ophthalmology Manage patient appointments efficiently using EMR/EHR systems, ensuring accurate documentation of medical records and clinical notes Operate optical laboratory equipment for lens cutting, edging, and assembly to produce high-quality eyewear products Handle retail sales transactions at the POS system, including cash register operations and processing insurance claims in compliance with HIPAA and health regulation policies Maintain clinic cleanliness and aseptic techniques during procedures to uphold safety standards and prevent contamination Support medical billing processes by coding diagnoses and procedures accurately using medical terminology and coding standards Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, optics, and eyewear fitting techniques Experience with EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic or similar systems for managing patient records Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and state healthcare regulations to ensure compliance Retail management skills including retail math, sales techniques, POS system operation, and customer service excellence Laboratory experience with spectacle lens fabrication, adjustment, and optical laboratory equipment operation Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic physiology assessments relevant to pediatrics and senior care populations Proficiency in medical terminology, medical billing practices, and understanding of medical coding standards for accurate documentation This role offers an exciting opportunity to blend technical expertise with compassionate patient care in a vibrant healthcare setting.
