Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and versatile Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Purchase, NY. In this hybrid role, you will bridge the gap between front-desk patient coordination and hands-on clinical care, ensuring a seamless experience from check-in through examination. Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Administration Greet patients warmly, oversee the check-in and check-out workflows, and maintain a calm, welcoming reception area. Answer multi-line phone systems, triage patient calls, and relay urgent messages to clinical providers. Schedule, confirm, and optimize patient appointments within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Verify insurance coverage, process co-payments, and issue receipts. Maintain digital medical records by scanning, indexing, and updating patient charts. Uphold strict HIPAA compliance and safeguard all sensitive health information. Clinical & Back-Office Support Room patients promptly and prepare them for examination by the provider. Obtain and record accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, SpO2, and weight). Document chief complaints, medical histories, current medications, and allergies. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during routine exams and minor in-office procedures. Clean, sanitize, and restock exam rooms between patients; track and organize clinical supplies. Coordinate specialty referrals, diagnostic orders, and physician-authorized prescription refill requests.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certification:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in an outpatient clinic or medical practice setting.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR platforms (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth) and standard practice management software.
Core Competencies:
Strong interpersonal communication, active listening, and the ability to seamlessly pivot between administrative multitasking and direct patient care. Pay Details:
