  • Charleston, SC Job Description A fast paced family medical practice is looking to hire a full time medical receptionist/office clerk that will interact with patients daily throughout the checkout process.
This candidate will have experience working in a medical office and must display a strong work ethic and a positive, professional attitude.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to check out patients in the EMR system, schedule upcoming appointments and collect outstanding balances. Answer phones, check in/out patients, collect money owed to the practice, schedule appointments, verify insurance, send referrals. Scan patient records into EMR system Assist with emails, faxes, returning voicemails and other office duties as assigned Ensure complete and accurate check out processes. Provide specific medical information to financial services to maximize reimbursement to hospital and physicians. Set up payment plans with patients and follow up with agreements made Must have strong friendly customer service skills and value patients and their care. Able to communicate in a positive, professional and effective manner with patients and team members is essential. Ability to multitask is key.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE A
minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred At least one year experience preferred in medical office Office is open: Monday
  • Thursday 8 am
  • 5 pm. Friday from 8 am
  • 1 pm. Experience in Athena EMR is a plus! Salary
