Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Front Office Staff member to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a busy healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical administrative procedures. In this role, you will manage patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, patient check out, collection of copays, vision insurance claim submission and medical record maintenance while ensuring compliance with confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the smooth operation of our medical practice. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using our electronic health record (EHR) system Verify patient insurance coverage, process vision claims, and handle general inquiries with accuracy and professionalism. Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Manage phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies while demonstrating proper phone etiquette. Support administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, copying documents, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Ensure clinic operations run smoothly by coordinating patient flow, managing appointment schedules, and handling front desk responsibilities effectively. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies at all times while handling sensitive health information and medical records. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless patient experience from intake through discharge. Qualifications Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is required; clinic or vision clinic experience is preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems is essential. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, HIPAA compliance, and health information management. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10), and medical billing procedures is preferred. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation review and administrative support tasks. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, typing, data entry, and office management tasks. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

From $19.00 per hour
