Job Description
Overview Our outpatient clinic is seeking a front office receptionist to greet patients, verify insurance, schedule and check in for appointments and assist with office tasks. The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced team environment and is warm, energetic, social and loves being part of a collaborative team. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule patient appointments using our EMR (Athena). Verify patient insurance information and handle payment collections. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes accurately. Maintain and organize medical records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally. Assist with our process for receiving, processing and coordinating new patient applications. Support clinic operations by filing documents, managing electronic health records (EHR) systems, and performing clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and 10-key data entry Uphold health information management standards by maintaining accuracy in medical records and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Skills Preferred experience in previous healthcare or administrative roles. Strong computer skills for data entry. Familiarity with the healthcare setting preferred. Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience working with health information management systems and electronic health records management tools preferred. Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, filing systems, and appointment scheduling. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times. Willingness to learn and grow in the environment.
