Join Our Summerville Ophthalmology Team as a Front Desk Receptionist! Our well-established ophthalmology practice, conveniently located in Summerville at Carnes Crossroads, is seeking a talented and personable front desk receptionist to join our team. Our front desk is busy! We need an additional person up front a few shifts per week.

What You'll Do Welcome patients with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive first impression. Answer phones with a friendly, consistent manner and assist with patient inquiries. Register new patients and update existing records, collecting detailed personal and financial information. Efficiently schedule a variety of appointment types and confirm all appointments, including surgery calls. Collect copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, and balances at each visit. Keep appointments running smoothly by notifying providers of arrivals and working with the team to minimize delays. Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and answering questions with empathy. Maintain a clean, organized front office and handle daily administrative tasks, including faxes and medical record requests. Contact patients regarding unpaid balances and communicate clearly about insurance plans. Respond calmly and effectively to patient emergencies. What We're Looking For Prior experience in a medical or ophthalmic office is preferred. Strong computer skills and ability to type quickly and accurately. Experience with Athena Health is preferred, but not required. Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Compensation Hourly pay is competitive and based on your experience and skills.
