Job Description

Medical Receptionist Upper Cumberland Cancer Care is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to join our outpatient oncology practice in Crossville, Tennessee. We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented individual with previous medical office experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Position Summary As the first point of contact for our patients, the Medical Receptionist plays an essential role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience. This position is responsible for greeting patients, verifying insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, answering multi-line phones, collecting patient payments, and maintaining accurate patient information. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Check patients in and out for appointments Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Collect co-pays and outstanding patient balances Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information Schedule provider and laboratory appointments Answer and direct telephone calls Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 1 year of medical office experience Experience verifying medical insurance and updating patient demographics Strong computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical record systems Excellent communication and customer service skills Exceptional attention to detail Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy Professional appearance and positive attitude
Preferred:
