Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline clinic operations, ensure accurate documentation, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, adhering to proper phone etiquette. Collect and review patient documentation, ensuring accuracy in medical records, health information management, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with insurance verification, including health insurance knowledge related to Medicare and other providers, and handle medical billing and collections using medical coding standards like
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10.
Maintain organized filing systems for medical records while ensuring secure electronic health record (EHR) management across platforms such as EMR systems. Manage office supplies, perform clerical tasks including filing and data entry, and assist with clinic operations to promote efficiency. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role within a clinical setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is essential. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance processing, and health information management is required. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical terminology ensures accurate documentation review and patient privacy protection.
