Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, updating electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies Process medical billing and collections efficiently while verifying insurance coverage, including Medicare and health insurance knowledge Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and care plans to support billing and clinical documentation Assist with medical office management tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, filing, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools Support clinical staff by managing phone communication, follow-up calls, and coordinating patient flow within the clinic environment Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in medical administrative support within a healthcare setting; clinic or dental clinic experience preferred Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple phone lines and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus Solid understanding of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) along with strong typing skills (10 key typing) Ability to review clinical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA policies Prior office experience in a healthcare environment involving clerical tasks like filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling Join our team to make a positive impact on patient experiences while working in an energetic environment that values your expertise!
