Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical office operations. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient service. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing, and handle collections with attention to detail and accuracy. Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and proper medical record management. Answer phone calls professionally, provide information to patients regarding clinic procedures, and coordinate care plans as needed. Manage front desk operations including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and general clerical support using Microsoft Office tools. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or clinical setting is required, with demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding (ICD coding), and medical billing procedures is highly desirable. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Strong organizational skills combined with excellent customer service orientation are necessary for success in this role.
