Job Description

Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Spanish/English) PCP for Life | Houston, TX (Multiple Locations) | Starting at $14.00/hr | Rotating Schedule - Up to 4 Days Off Per Week Most front desk jobs in healthcare put you behind a glass window, hand you a script, and move on. This one is different. At PCP for Life, the front desk isn't a barrier between patients and care — it's the first real human connection a patient makes when they walk through the door. We're looking for someone who understands that. We've been serving Houston's diverse communities since 1992 — eight clinics strong, with new locations opening soon. Spanish fluency isn't a checkbox here. It's how thousands of our patients get the help they came for.
THE SCHEDULE
LET'S TALK ABOUT IT
This is one of the best-kept secrets about working here, so we're leading with it: Week 1 — 3 days on, 4 days off: 2 weekday shifts (12 hours each) + 1 weekend day (10 hours). Then 4 full days off. Week 2 — 4 days on, 3 days off: 3 weekday shifts (12 hours each) + 1 weekend day (10 hours). Then 3 days off.
Weekend requirement:
All staff work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) every week — 10-hour shift, based on your assigned location.
The result:
A 4-day weekend every other week. More recovery time than most healthcare jobs will ever offer. Extended clinic hours run Monday-Friday (8 AM-8 PM) and Saturday-Sunday (8 AM-6 PM) across our locations. Shift assignments are based on your primary clinic.
WHY JOIN PCP FOR LIFE?
Real Growth Path:
Front desk isn't a dead end here. Staff who prove themselves move into lead roles, coordinator tracks, and other administrative support positions across our growing organization.
Comprehensive Benefits:
Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance plus Paid Time Off (PTO).
Future Planning:
401(k) with company matching.
Structured Onboarding:
You'll receive hands-on training in our systems and workflows before you're solo at the front desk. No being thrown in cold.
Consistent Home Base:
We prioritize placing you at a primary location so you build real relationships with your team and patients — not a different clinic every week.
Community Roots:
Serving Houston since 1992. Our patients are loyal because our staff is too.
Growing Organization:
Serving Houston since 1992 and still expanding. New clinic locations opening across the greater Houston area.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You're the first face patients see and the last voice they hear before they leave. Your accuracy, composure, and bilingual communication skills shape the patient experience from start to finish. Greet patients warmly in English and Spanish, verify insurance eligibility, and ensure every visitor feels welcomed and informed from the moment they walk in. Manage patient check-in and check-out workflows, coordinate appointment scheduling, and keep the front desk running efficiently during high-volume hours. Verify Medicaid and Medicare eligibility, collect and post time-of-service payments, and handle basic billing inquiries with accuracy and professionalism. Manage high-volume incoming calls, route correspondence, and handle patient inquiries with the kind of warmth and efficiency that keeps people coming back. Maintain and update patient records in eClinicalWorks with precision and strict confidentiality at all times. Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day and flag any scheduling or access issues before they escalate. Handle medical correspondence — faxes, referral forms, and administrative documents — with accuracy and attention to detail. Occasional travel between nearby Houston-area clinic locations for coverage as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
