Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, medical terminology knowledge, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule appointments using EMR systems Athenahealth and Phreesia Verify patient insurance coverage and process medical billing and collections accurately Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR systems) ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Assist with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and documentation review for billing purposes Handle phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies using proper phone etiquette and professional demeanor Support medical office management tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing medical records Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and ensure timely patient follow-up Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for administrative support and reporting Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations and medical administrative support Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claims processing Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth and Phreesia. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Proven skills in medical billing, coding (ICD coding), documentation review, and health information management Excellent customer service skills combined with clerical experience in a healthcare setting Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in typing (including 10 key typing) and data entry tasks Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times Join us to make a meaningful difference in patient care through energetic support and meticulous administrative excellence!
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
