Job description: Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service with professional phone etiquette and clear communication. Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eyefinity EHR. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection efforts. Manage patient intake forms, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Assist with medical office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized paper and electronic medical records. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient care plans, referrals, and follow-up appointments. Use multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls efficiently while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Experience Proven experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably within clinics or dental offices. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eyefinity, Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and insurance billing procedures including Medicare. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software. Prior clinic or hospital experience focusing on patient service, front desk operations, or office management is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and experience reviewing documentation for accuracy is essential for maintaining confidentiality and legal compliance.
