Medical Front Desk Receptionist Retina Physicians of Central Texas, PLLC Round Rock, TX Full-time | $16.00-$18.00 per hour | In person About Retina Physicians of Central Texas Retina Physicians of Central Texas (RPCT) is a newly established, physician-owned retina specialty practice serving Round Rock, Taylor, and surrounding Central Texas communities. We are looking for a friendly, dependable Medical Front Desk Receptionist to become an early member of our growing team. This is more than joining an established office. You will have the opportunity to help build a new medical practice from the beginning , contribute ideas, help shape how we care for patients, and grow with RPCT as the practice expands. Our mission is to provide expert retina care that is personal, efficient, and accessible . Many of our patients live with chronic, sight-threatening retinal conditions and may remain under our care for many years. We believe patients should know their physician and care team, receive clear communication, experience minimal unnecessary waiting, and receive the same standard of care we would want for our own families. The front desk is an important part of that mission. Many of our patients are older adults, have impaired vision, or are understandably worried about their eyesight. The person who welcomes them, helps them over the phone, and checks them out after their visit has a meaningful impact on their experience with our practice. We are looking for someone who takes pride in making patients feel welcome, respected, and confident that their concerns are being handled. What You Will Do Welcome patients and provide a friendly, professional front-desk experience Check patients in and out Answer incoming patient telephone calls and return messages Schedule and confirm appointments Help patients understand their next appointment and follow-up plans Collect and verify demographic and insurance information Collect patient payments when appropriate Scan and upload documents Assist with medical-record requests and general front-office administrative work Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families Work closely with the physician and clinical team to keep patient visits running efficiently Recognize when a patient concern needs to be promptly escalated to clinical staff Help develop and improve front-office workflows as the practice grows Assist the team with other appropriate administrative responsibilities when needed Who We Are Looking For The right person is: Dependable and punctual Friendly, patient, and professional Comfortable speaking with patients on the telephone throughout the day Calm and courteous when patients are worried, confused, or frustrated Organized and attentive to detail Comfortable using computers and learning new software Able to manage several responsibilities while maintaining a positive patient experience Willing to take initiative and help solve problems Interested in becoming part of a small team and growing with the practice over time Prior experience in a medical office, ophthalmology, optometry, dental office, reception, call center, hospitality, retail, or another customer-service position is helpful but not required . Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person. We use Nextech Practice Management/EMR and RingCentral. Previous experience with these systems is not required. Schedule and Locations This is a full-time, in-person position , primarily based at our Round Rock office. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime clinic hours. RPCT also operates a satellite retina clinic in Taylor, Texas approximately 2-3 days per month , and the employee hired for this position must be able to work at the Taylor clinic when scheduled. As the practice grows, occasional coverage at additional Central Texas satellite locations, including Georgetown, may also be required. Employees are responsible for reliable transportation to their assigned work location. Normal commuting from home to the assigned work location is not reimbursed.
