Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and check in/out efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks. Manage patient scheduling through dental office management software, ensuring optimal appointment flow. Collect and process payments, insurance claims, and co-pays accurately while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality. Review and update medical records, including documentation review of care plans, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and insurance information such as Medicare or health plans. Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing excellent customer service and answering inquiries about appointments or billing. Maintain filing systems for medical records and ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Support medical billing processes by verifying insurance coverage and assisting with electronic claim submissions via EMR/EHR platforms like Athenahealth or Health Information Management systems. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical or dental front desk setting with strong clerical skills. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred. Knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, HIPAA regulations, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing processes. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing (including 10 key typing). Exceptional customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and professional communication abilities. Ability to review documentation accurately and maintain meticulous medical records. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Clinic experience or healthcare administrative support background is highly desirable.
