Overview Join a dynamic dental practice as a Front Desk Dental Office Specialist, where your enthusiasm and organizational skills will be the first touchpoint for patients and visitors alike. In this vital role, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle medical billing and coding, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach will contribute to delivering exceptional patient service while maintaining the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and health information management. Responsibilities 1.Proficiency in Dentrix Dental Software 2.Schedule appointments and log patient histories. 3.
Insurance Verification & Billing:
Working knowledge of dental plans (PPO, HMO, Medicaid), verifying annual maximums, managing deductibles, and calculating estimated patient co-pays. 4.
Dental Coding Literacy:
Basic knowledge of dental terminology and CDT (Current Dental Terminology) codes to accurately submit insurance claims and post treatments. 5.
Financial Processing:
Experience managing point-of-sale transactions, handling petty cash, arranging third-party financing, and preparing daily bank depos 6.
Operational & Scheduling Responsibilities Productive Scheduling:
Optimizing the daily calendar to balance hygiene and restorative procedures, minimizing gaps while leaving room for emergency walk-ins. 7.
Patient Check-in/Check-out:
Greeting incoming patients, facilitating intake paperwork, updating medical records, and scheduling follow-up cleanings or treatment plans before they leave. 8.
Outreach & Recall Management:
Actively managing cancellation waitlists, confirming appointments via phone/text/email, and following up with patients regarding outstanding treatment pipelines. 9.
Correspondence & Coordination:
Handling incoming calls, sorting mail, routing digital X-rays or dental records, and managing specialist referrals. 310
Compliance & Administration HIPAA Compliance:
Mastery of patient privacy laws, including the proper handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) in both written and digital forms. 11.
Office Maintenance:
Keeping the physical reception area clean, professional, and stocked with up-to-date informational forms.
Inventory Control:
Tracking and reordering front office supplies while coordinating with external laboratory technicians and dental vendors. 12.
Soft Skills & Education Requirements Communication & Empathy:
Strong interpersonal skills to anchor patient phone queries, address cost objections with problem-solving, and soothe anxious patients.
Multitasking & Time Management:
Ability to maintain poise and efficiency in a high-traffic environment while balancing phone lines and physical desk lines simultaneously. 13. Plus point would be to be able to work in the back as well if required. 14. Plus point speak Spanish along with
English Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
