Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, while maintaining clinic calendars Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection and medical billing procedures Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including intake documentation review and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix Maintain medical records with strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies, ensuring proper filing, documentation review, and data accuracy Assist with medical office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to support smooth clinic operations Utilize computer skills including Microsoft Office suite for documentation, correspondence, and reporting purposes Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office or clinical setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and office management practices Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to uphold patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Ability to perform accurate CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for billing and documentation purposes Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong organizational skills with experience in medical scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative support tasks Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), typing skills (including 10-key), and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) management systems Embark on a rewarding career where your proactive approach helps deliver exceptional patient care while supporting the operational excellence of our healthcare facility.
