Overview Join our dynamic dental practice as a Dental Front Office Receptionist and become the welcoming face of our clinic! In this energetic role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from appointment scheduling to billing. Your expertise in medical administrative support, combined with your excellent customer service skills, will help us deliver exceptional care and streamline office operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring efficient patient flow. Verify patient insurance coverage, including health insurance knowledge related to Medicare and other plans, and process payments accurately. Handle medical billing and collections with precision, utilizing CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and familiarity with health information management standards. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Use computer skills to update patient information, review documentation, and manage electronic health records (EHR systems). Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and coordinate care plans with the clinical team. Qualifications Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental clinic operations is a plus. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings (Spanish or other languages is a plus). Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, typing (including 10-key typing), and office management tasks. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records management tools. Exceptional organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation review, and appointment scheduling. Experience working in a healthcare environment that emphasizes clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards.
