About the Position Wilde Desert Family Medicine is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. Our Medical Assistants play an essential role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong clinical and organizational skills, communicates effectively with patients and coworkers, and takes pride in providing compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:

Room patients and prepare them for their visit. Interview patients and accurately document medical history, medications, allergies, and other relevant information. Obtain and accurately document vital signs and other clinical information. Prepare patients for examinations and assist the provider during examinations and procedures. Assist patients with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transitions as needed to support safe patient care and access to clinical services. Perform clinical duties within the Medical Assistant's scope of practice, training, and applicable regulations. Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other treatments as ordered and permitted by training, certification, and applicable regulations. Perform point-of-care testing and collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens as appropriate. Assist with laboratory orders, specimen handling, and coordination of laboratory services. Prepare examination and treatment rooms and ensure rooms are properly stocked and maintained. Clean and disinfect examination rooms, equipment, and clinical areas according to established infection-control procedures. Prepare, maintain, and appropriately handle medical instruments, equipment, and supplies. Accurately document patient care and clinical activities in the electronic health record. Assist with scribing and documenting patient encounters as directed. Communicate patient concerns and clinical information appropriately to providers and other members of the healthcare team. Respond to patient questions and requests within the scope of the Medical Assistant role and appropriately route clinical questions when necessary. Assist with referrals, orders, prior authorizations, and other patient-care coordination tasks as assigned. Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain the confidentiality of patient information. Follow all practice policies, procedures, safety standards, infection-control protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education as required. Assist with other clinical and operational duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or equivalent qualifying education and experience, as applicable. Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to meet applicable certification requirements. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to accurately document information in an electronic health record. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and compassion when interacting with patients, including patients who may be anxious, frustrated, confused, or experiencing health concerns. Ability to work independently while recognizing when a situation requires assistance or escalation. Ability to work collaboratively with providers and other members of the healthcare team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a primary care or family medicine setting. Current Medical Assistant certification. Experience with electronic health record systems. Experience administering injections and immunizations. Experience with phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection. Experience with point-of-care testing. Familiarity with referrals and prior authorization processes. Bilingual communication skills are a plus. Physical Requirements and Essential Functions The Medical Assistant must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position requires sufficient physical ability to safely and effectively perform clinical duties, including: Standing and walking throughout the clinic for extended periods. Frequent movement between patient care areas. Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and changing positions as necessary to provide patient care. Assisting patients with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transitions when needed for safe patient care. Providing physical support to patients during transfers or movement when appropriate. Assisting with repositioning patients as needed. Pushing, pulling, and maneuvering wheelchairs, examination equipment, supplies, and other patient-care equipment. Moving, positioning, and handling medical equipment and supplies as necessary to perform assigned duties. Performing repetitive fine motor tasks required for clinical care and documentation. Responding promptly to patient needs and moving quickly when necessary to assist with patient safety or an urgent clinical situation. The Medical Assistant must be able to safely perform these duties independently or with reasonable accommodation. When patient mobility assistance requires more than one person or the use of available equipment, appropriate assistance and safe patient-handling procedures will be utilized. Pay:

$17.00 - $18.50 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
