JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Our physical medicine and rehabilitation practice treats patients with musculoskeletal and neurological disabilities. We are seeking a clinical medical assistant to join our stimulating and engaging team. The clinical medical assistant position is a tremendous opportunity for motivated individuals considering a career in medicine and health-related fields.

Responsibilities:

Transcribe clinical notes and physical examinations Prepare patients and rooms for procedures Assist physician during injections and electromyography studies Perform nerve conduction studies Manage patient prescriptions Coordinate front desk activities such as scheduling and managing questionnaires and consent forms Respond to phone calls and faxes Help navigate worker's compensation claims alongside patients

Requirements:

Macbook computer required Must be able to work onsite 2-3 days a week and/or 2-3 days remote. Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and medical terminology Strong written and oral communication Advanced Microsoft Word skills Advanced Macintosh OS skills Bachelors of Science in biology, physiology, neurology, or related field is highly recommended Position starts as a part time position, up to 20 hours per week with full time work a possibility as need arises.

Experience:

Prior work experience, 1 year in a clinical setting preferred Previous leadership position (work or school) Basic pharmacology knowledge
