Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians and healthcare professionals in a fast-paced medical environment, such as a Level I or Level II Trauma Center. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for accurately documenting patient encounters, assisting with patient care, and providing administrative support to enhance the efficiency of clinical operations.
- Bilingual is preferrable.
- Need some experience on scribing.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- The medical assistant MUST have strong knowledge of verifying insurance and patient eligibility.
- Preferable to have scribe experience for at least 1 year.
- Knowledge of processing outgoing referrals.
- Knowledge of obtaining pre-authorization for medications and imaging.
- Responsible for all aspects of patient appointment scheduling, insurance verification, creation of new patient charts and maintenance of patient records in accordance with compliance policies, scanning and filing patient documents, ensuring complete and accurate information, sort faxes, managing incoming phone calls, timely completion of all assigned tasks.
- Responsible for providing support for all aspects of closing a patient visit including obtaining insurance authorization, timely completion of all assigned tasks, scheduling return appointments, reviewing and managing incoming documents, and tasking to appropriate parties to outstanding requests for information.
- Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, and treatment plans during medical consultations.
- Assist healthcare provider in managing patient flow and ensuring timely documentation.
- Record vital signs and other relevant patient information as directed by medical staff.
- Support medication administration processes by documenting prescribed medications and dosages.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in patient documentation.
