Job Description

We are searching for a full-time Medical Assistant/Scribe who will operate as part of a physician team within our practice. Our Medical Scribes are required to record detailed and accurate medical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) under the direct supervision of a physician. Medical Scribes will be cross trained to work in our Front Office as well as in Medical Assistant duties. Travel to all five office locations is a requirement - West Hartford, Simsbury, Manchester, Middletown, Hamden. Hours for this position range between 7:30am-7:00pm Monday - Friday.
Specific Medical Assistant responsibilities include:
Direct hands-on patient care including obtaining vital signs, allergy skin testing and spirometry. Preparing patient exam rooms Documentation in the electronic medical record Understanding of medical terminology including medication names and willingness to learn Specific Medical Scribe responsibilities include: Ability to document medical visits and procedures accurately and thoroughly as they are being performed by the physician including medical history, physical examination, test results, patient education, physician dictated diagnoses Understanding of medical terminology including medication names and willingness to learn
Qualifications:
Typing speed of greater than 75 words per minute without errors . Strong computer skills and ability to navigate an EMR High level of professionalism Strong customer service skills Organizational skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to mutitask Organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience as a Scribe is preferred but not required Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
