This position combines hands-on clinical Medical Assistant responsibilities with medical scribing , giving you the opportunity to work directly alongside an Internal Medicine physician throughout the patient visit. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, quick-thinking, professional, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care.

Medical Assistant responsibilities include:

Room patients and prepare exam rooms Obtain vital signs and medical histories Assist the physician with examinations and procedures Administer injections and perform EKGs, ear lavage, and other clinical procedures Perform clinical screening tests Assist with patient flow and keep the physician on schedule Perform phone triage and communicate test results to patients as directed Process medication refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and faxes Respond to clinical messages and tasks within the EMR Scribe responsibilities include: Document patient visits in real time Accurately enter histories, examinations, assessments, and treatment plans into the EMR Capture the physician's clinical documentation efficiently and accurately Anticipate the physician's needs during patient visits Help maintain efficient patient flow

Qualifications Required:

Previous Medical Assistant/clinical experience High school diploma or equivalent Strong typing skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor and work ethic

Preferred:

Medical Assistant certification or healthcare-related education Previous medical scribing experience Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) and/or

Epic Position Details Schedule:

Part-time (potential for full-time in future)

Location:

Sycamore, IL Hours:

Must be available during the physician's scheduled hours, which may include early mornings. Approximately 25-30/week
