The primary responsibilities include scheduling outpatient procedures such as X-rays, lab work and tests, and to coordinate scheduling of procedures with the scheduling department. Initiates referrals to physicians and ancillary facilities. What You Need for this
Position:
High school Diploma or equivalent required. Medical office experience preferred.
What You Will Be Doing:
Efficiently schedules patient procedures, tests, and lab work such as x-rays, MRI's CT scans etc. as ordered by physicians and nurse practitioners. Accommodates physician and nurse practitioner scheduling preferences. Reviews history and medications with patient to ascertain correct prep for patient, and communicates any medication changes that may be required. Accurately enters data into gMed Promptly and accurately removes/moves scheduled procedures in gMed when moved/cancelled to keep schedule current at all times. Responds to incoming ancillary scheduling requests as calls are received. Promptly returns calls from voice mail. Schedules patients in appropriate facility in order for patient to receive maximum insurance coverage & reimbursement. Task to Prior Auth all MRIs, CTs and other testing as required by insurance companies. Completes Physician Diagnostic Referral form & lab work requisitions and confirms ICD-10 and CPT codes. Coordinates scheduling of procedures with the scheduling department. Initiates referrals to physicians and medical centers for consults and follow up. Collaborates with call center to ensure correct hold times for patient's medication. Responds to requests from physicians, nurse practitioners, patients and families in a timely manner. Collaborates with Medical Records to obtain missing information.
