00 per hour, plus a $1,000 completion bonus at 6 months and an additional completion bonus at 12 months. Start date flexible, September-November 2026. Who this is for You have finished (or are finishing) a bachelor's degree, you are planning to apply to medical, PA, dental, or another health-professional school, and you want a year of real clinical and operational work alongside a physician before you do. You are a strong student, you type fast and write clearly, and you want to be in the room, not at a call center. This is not a passive scribe job. We are a small physician-owned practice, and the person in this role becomes the physician's right hand: you will scribe, but you will also be handed projects, asked to write reports, and expected to learn how a medical practice actually runs. We are looking for someone highly motivated who adapts quickly, works independently, and finishes what they start. What you will do

• Scribe in real time for a board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician in e

ClinicalWorks:

history, exam, assessment, and plan, during clinic visits and procedures

• Document fluoroscopy-guided spine and joint procedures and ketamine infusion visits
• Pre-chart the next day's patients: prior imaging, labs, outside records, and medication history
• Draft physician correspondence and reports: referral letters, work-restriction letters, chart summaries, and medical-legal narrative reports that the physician edits and signs
• Own projects: chart reviews, outcome tracking, workflow fixes, prior-authorization and referral follow-up, and other operational problems the physician hands you
• Learn the operations side of healthcare: scheduling, insurance authorization, billing basics, workers' compensation and personal-injury case flow, and how a specialty clinic makes decisions What you get that a scribe company cannot give you
• One physician, every day, for a year: you will learn how a specialist thinks, and the physician will know your work well enough to write a detailed letter of recommendation at the end of your commitment
• Hundreds of documented procedure hours: epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulator trials, joint injections, IV ketamine
• Exposure to medical-legal medicine: independent medical examinations, causation opinions, and workers' compensation reports
• A quality-improvement or chart-review project you can present or list on your application
• Application coaching: personal statement review and mock interview practice from a physician who has done this for prior scribes

English:

correct spelling, grammar, and the ability to turn a fast conversation into a clean, accurate note or a clear report. A short typing and writing test (minimum 60 words per minute) is part of the interview.

• Highly motivated, adapts quickly to new systems and situations, comfortable being given a project with a deadline and limited instructions
• Interest in how healthcare operations work, not just the clinical side
• Able to commit to approximately 12 months (through summer 2027)
• Lives in the Kansas City metro and can commute daily to Leawood
