Full Job Description Description:
The Endoscopy Center is a team of dedicated and accomplished professionals utilizing state of the art technology and proven methods to provide exceptional patient care. We are recruiting for a Medical Scribe who shares our passion for ensuring superior outpatient care in the field of Gastroenterology. Assist physician in completion of operative notes including indications, findings and plans for patients. Review medical records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations. Performs work in procedure rooms during procedures. Reviews records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations. Scan medical records into electronic medical record. Creates admit orders. Audits charts. Assigns admit orders to patients and ensures reasons for procedures are appropriate. Ensures printed referral letters and standing orders are complete. Assists staff in completion of polyp detection study and uploading data to data registry. Maintains patient privacy in conjunction with company policies, HIPAA guidelines and all relevant government regulations. Displays respectful behavior towards others.
Requirements:
High school completion certificate/diploma required. Medical Assistant or similar certification is preferred. Experience with medical coding is preferred. Experience working in a medical environment (clinic, hospital, laboratory) is preferred. Attention to detail and good customer service skills are required. Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and the Internet is required.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3pm (or until procedures are completed)
