Job Description
Job Summary We're looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented, and organized Medical Scribe to join our team. The ideal candidate is a great communicator who can make patients feel comfortable while carefully listening to their concerns. Your primary role will be to speak with patients, empathize with their pain, symptoms, and medical history, and gather accurate, detailed information to create comprehensive clinical notes for the physician using our electronic health record (EHR) system. Strong listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment are essential. Responsibilities Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical documentation Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), including inputting, updating, and retrieving patient information securely Assist healthcare providers with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and preparing medical records for review Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance with confidentiality policies Support physicians in documenting medical history, physical exams, and treatment plans using specialized EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Facilitate effective communication between patients and staff by managing patient interaction workflows and ensuring clarity in documentation Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and assist with emergency room procedures when necessary Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred Strong transcription skills with proficiency in typing quickly and accurately under pressure Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for managing electronic health records efficiently Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA compliance Experience with medical transcription or writing skills that support precise documentation of patient encounters Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations •
