Overview Join our multi-location, dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Scribe specializing in Colorectal procedures! In this vital role, you will serve as a dedicated documentation partner for colorectal specialists, ensuring accurate, comprehensive, and timely medical records. Your energetic and detail-oriented approach will help streamline clinical workflows, enhance patient care, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your medical documentation skills while contributing to exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Accurately transcribe physician-patient interactions during colorectal consultations, procedures, and follow-up visits using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Assist clinicians by documenting detailed medical histories, physical exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedural notes in real-time. Manage and update electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Support the collection and organization of medical records, test results, imaging reports, and other relevant documentation for seamless patient care continuity. Demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to colorectal health to enhance documentation accuracy. Maintain efficient workflow by managing typing speed and transcription accuracy during busy clinic hours or emergency room situations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous information and ensure precise representation of clinical encounters. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings or as a medical scribe, preferably with exposure to gastroenterology or colorectal specialties. Strong transcription skills with the ability to accurately convert spoken language into detailed written records. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management best practices. Knowledge of EClinicalWorks (eCW) required. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to colorectal health, and physiology fundamentals. Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and clarity in medical documentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as clinics or emergency rooms. Prior experience with medical transcription, typing proficiency, or emergency room settings is highly desirable.
