Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Medical Scribe to join our thriving rheumatology practice. The Medical Scribe will work alongside the physician during patient visits, documenting medical encounters in real time and assisting with electronic health record (EHR) documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, medicine, nursing, physician assistant studies, or other clinical careers who enjoy working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Key Responsibilities Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) during clinic visits. Record patient histories, review of systems, physical examination findings, assessments, and treatment plans as directed by the physician. Document laboratory results, imaging studies, referrals, and follow-up recommendations. Assist with chart preparation before clinic sessions. Update medication lists, allergies, and past medical history as instructed. Ensure medical records are complete, organized, and compliant with clinic policies and HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate efficient patient flow. Perform other administrative or documentation-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent typing speed and computer proficiency. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality. Previous experience as a medical scribe. Preferred Accredited Certified Medical Scribe (ACMS) Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR). Familiarity with medical terminology. Knowledge of rheumatology, internal medicine, or other specialty practice documentation. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Highly organized and dependable. Schedule Full-time Monday-Thursday, 8-5 and Friday, 8-2 (clinic hours) No nights, weekends, or major holidays (depending on clinic schedule).
