Pay:

$30.00 per hour Designed for highly experienced medical scribes or Epic power users with 3+ years of experience . Expected to support departmental template optimization, perform chart auditing, and assist as a lead trainer for incoming support staff.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scribe to provide clinical documentation and order entry support for two primary hematology physicians in an outpatient specialty clinic. This role serves as a direct workflow partner, helping maintain accurate documentation and supporting clinic efficiency during an active Epic electronic health record (EHR) transition.

Key Responsibilities:

Accompany physicians during patient encounters and document clinical information in real time. Capture provider dictations accurately within the Epic electronic health record (EHR). Enter laboratory, imaging, medication, and clinical orders into Epic exactly as directed by providers. Support clinic workflow by maintaining documentation standards and assisting with SmartPhrases during the Epic transition. Track and coordinate patient communication needs to help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant chart completion. Maintain a high level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced outpatient specialty environment.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Prior medical scribe experience is required . Tier 1: 0-2 years of medical scribe experience. Tier 2: 3 or more years of medical scribe experience. Experience in oncology, hematology, or another complex outpatient specialty is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Strong working knowledge of Epic EHR workflows is highly preferred. Ability to navigate Epic independently with minimal training.

Preferred Certifications:

The following certifications are highly preferred: Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) American Medical Scribe Specialist (AMSS) Certified Medical Scribe Associate (CMSA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Note:

For Tier 2 (Elite/Lead Trainer) candidates, a professional medical scribe certification (CMSS, AMSS, CMSA) or Medical Assistant certification (CCMA, CMA) is required for consideration.
