Job Description
UPMC is hiring a Medical Transcriptionist to join us on a full-time basis to support our Radiology Support department. The person in this role is to provide quality and timely medical transcription services to authorized users of the entity's dictation system.
Responsibilities:
Workflow:
Edit all reports that are presented for corrections using the PS360 editing system. In office staff is responsible for answering and directing phone calls and faxing reports to requesting physicians as appropriate. Notify the appropriate message group for any invalid status issues. Edit dictated DXAs exams, insert the appropriate template, forward exam to leads for data entry. Maintain daily records of work time vs. down time and forward to supervisor at conclusion of each work shift. Maintain personal knowledge of departmental requirements, quality guidelines, procedures and policies. Type Magee perinatal cardiology daily and overflow Magee OB ultrasound work as needed. Perform the USA Radiology Transcription procedure as needed.Productivity and Quality:
Must maintain a personal quality score of 98% or better per pay period. Must produce an average line count of 225 lines/hour at home and 200 lines/hour in office. Maintain a departmental TAT of 30 minutes or less for stat exams and under 2 hours for all other exams.Device Maintenance:
Maintain UPMC lock down PCs in working order in compliance with all UPMC computer policies and guidelines. Present any malfunctioning computer equipment for repair. Present computer equipment for upgrades, installs, program changes as required. Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned. Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years medical transcription experience or graduate of an approved Medical Transcription Training Program. Proficient in Medical Terminology, and Anatomy and Physiology. Must be able to hear, read, communicate, and understand the English language.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
