Administrative Assistant/Medical Scribe for Plastic Surgeon Affiliates In Plastic Surgery, LLC McLean, VA Job Details Full-time $22 - $24 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Spreadsheets Medical office experience HIPAA Attention to detail Patient care Microsoft Teams Productivity software Medical terminology Full Job Description A busy, well-established plastic surgery practice with eight offices in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County, Maryland, is looking for an administrative assistant/medical scribe. Three days per week will be spent assisting one of our busy plastic surgeons with both hands-on and administrative work, with the other two days to include medical office administrative work, answering calls, etc. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, comfortable with basic patient care, excellent with multi-tasking, and able to handle high patient volume. This challenging job affords the opportunity to gain exposure to the many aspects of managing a medical practice as well as clinical exposure.
Job Responsibilities:
Interpret and transcribe the dictation into patient history, exam notes, operative reports, referral letters, discharge summaries, and other documents. Translate medical abbreviations and jargon into the appropriate long form. Communicate with the physician either in-person, via Microsoft Teams, or over phone and capture and transcribe medical record information and documentation into the given applications. Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient. Listen to recorded or live audio files capturing physician - patient interaction and perform medical scribing activity. Provided comprehensive documentation of key clinical information based on client templates.
Edit / Modify
any documentation that is rejected by providers. Promptly respond to provider queries about the scribed information and any documentation. Follow up with the healthcare provider to ensure that reports are accurate. Follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements. Complies with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA. Performs other clerical duties and tasks to improve physician productivity and workflow as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Understanding of medical terminology Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Teams) Experience in medical office preferred Experience with EHR software preferred This position is primarily based in our McLean and Alexandria office locations. Starting pay ranges from $22-$24 per hour based on experience.
