Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications following all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA privacy standards. Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist residents with daily activities including mobility, personal hygiene, grooming, and feeding, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times. Support individuals with special needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory care requirements through tailored caregiving strategies. Maintain detailed medical documentation and records of medication administration, patient care activities, and medical history updates. Follow proper manual handling procedures for heavy lifting or transferring residents safely to prevent injury. Respond promptly to medical emergencies by applying first aid or basic life support techniques like CPR when necessary. Skills Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with a focus on senior and geriatric care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures such as catheter care or tube feeding. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation of patient information. Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized memory or hospice care. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance. Competence in vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support (CPR).
