Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor residents' responses in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and hygiene. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and tube feeding procedures. Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguarding resident confidentiality. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and report any changes or concerns promptly. Perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers; adhere to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Certification in First Aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are advantageous. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Cerner is preferred. Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments. Strong understanding of state Board of Nursing regulations and compliance standards for medication administration. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and maintain patient safety during transfers or mobility assistance. Excellent communication skills for caregiving tasks and caregiver communication; compassionate approach to resident personal care assistance.
