About the Role The Medication Technician plays a critical role in supporting our residents by assisting them in self-administering medications. This position requires a caring disposition, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively while adhering to the highest standards of care and compliance.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist residents with self-administration of oral medications per state/provincial regulations. Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and community information. Measure and document residents' weight. Adhere to and maintain medication room systems and policies. Accurately document in Progress Notes and Communication Logs. Collaborate with Resident Care Managers and/or Charge Nurse to address resident needs. Report resident concerns and changes in condition promptly. Participate in service plan development and updates by providing valuable insights. Read and contribute to inter-shift communication reports.
Qualifications:
Health Care Aide (HCA) Certification. Experience with medication administration assistance. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Current CPR and First Aid certification.
