Medication Technician for an assisted living community Golden Pond Senior Living Retirement Community Sacramento, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $18.50 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Assisted living experience English Sharps disposal Quality resident care Sharps safety Full Job Description This position is responsible for the safe delivery of medications to the residents. Also acts as a Team Leader to caregivers assigned to resident care.

Wellness Director Training/Skills Required:
Must be able to speak, read and communicate fluently in English. Complete required 16 hours of training in medication management and 4 hours annual training. Able to bend, turn and twist multiple times daily. Able to communicate with supervisor, co-workers, residents and families in a positive and professional manner.
Duties:
Read 24 Hours Report and Medication Board at the start of each shift. Perform narcotic count at the start/end of each shift. (No exceptions) Receive report/radios and pagers from previous shifts. Pour, Pass and Sign for all medications ordered for resident. Reorder/Inform supervisor medications as needed in a timely manner. Receive and record medications in Centrally Stored Binder. Document all PRN medication given and record results. Dispose of sharps in designated container. Perform resident care as needed and assigned. Respond to emergency calls throughout the building. Document all unusual occurrences. Check Emergency Response kit with all supplies in a neat and orderly fashion. Notify supervisor for designee as needed. Maintain the medication room in a neat and orderly fashion. Ensure weight checks are done monthly for each resident. Perform and document all vital signs as needed. Notify supervisor if there is a call-off so that adequate coverage can be found if this situation does arise. Perform other task as assigned by supervisors.
