Position Summary:
Provides and coordinates nursing care and treatment for residents of The Myron Stratton Home by administering medications, performing first aid, working closely with outside providers, and monitoring the safety and well-being of the residents.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Essential Functions Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions): Adhering to the Policies and Procedures of The Myron Stratton Home Shall document and maintain resident medical records. Shall supervise and participate in care given residents on his/her shift. Shall assess and evaluate care needs and concerns of residents and communicate with Nursing Supervisor as necessary. Ensures that a clean and orderly environment is maintained Attends required staff meetings and in-services. Manages and administers resident's medication. Administers treatments within scope of practice to residents as ordered by physicians. Gives direction for care of cottage residents as necessary. Complies with expectations of the position, which include maintaining current CNA license, CPR & First Aid Certification, QMAP, and the ability to perform duties requiring lifting and maintaining personal health to ensure infection control. Assists with activities as needed. Upon request, may perform additional essential functions as assigned and/or assist other employees, including disabled employees, in meeting the minimum requirements of their jobs as required. Will learn the Culture Change philosophy of care and service and will integrate that philosophy into the daily routine.
Education, Experience and Physical/Mental Skills Required:
Current CNA License, QMAP, CPR, and First Aide training. Medical Assistant and Supervisory experience desired. Must be able to stand for moderate periods of time; able to lift heavy objects, able to stoop, kneel and reach in high places. Have the ability to hear and talk on a telephone. Must have the ability to hear and talk with residents, other staff and the general public. Able to operate small equipment. Have the ability to aid in assessing resident's condition. Have the ability to understand and follow written oral instructions. Meeting essential functions of the job.
