Position Summary The Residential Care Aide / Medication Technician is responsible for providing high-quality personal care, medication assistance, and daily support to residents while promoting their independence, comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Working under the direction of the Administrator and nursing staff, this position helps ensure that residents receive exceptional care while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Primary Responsibilities Resident Care Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including: Bathing Dressing Grooming Toileting Mobility and transfers Eating and hydration Follow each resident's individualized Service Plan. Monitor residents daily and promptly report changes in their physical, mental, or emotional condition. Provide emotional support, encouragement, and companionship. Escort residents to appointments and community outings as needed. Assist with meal service, dining assistance, and snacks. Perform light housekeeping in residents' rooms and common areas as needed. Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Medication Technician Responsibilities For qualified
Medication Technicians:
Provide medication assistance in accordance with Florida regulations, facility policies, and residents' care plans. Accurately document medication assistance in the Medication Administration Record (MAR). Monitor residents and promptly report medication concerns, changes in condition, or possible adverse reactions. Maintain medication carts and medication storage areas in a clean, secure, and organized manner. Verify medication deliveries and report any discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor. Monitor medication inventory and report refill needs before supplies become low. Properly store, secure, and handle medications in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate and complete medication documentation. Additional Responsibilities Respond promptly to resident needs and call systems. Assist with housekeeping and laundry duties as assigned. Support resident activities and engagement. Assist with meal preparation, service, and clean-up as needed. Attend required staff meetings, training, and in-service education. Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate resident documentation and shift reports. Report safety concerns, maintenance issues, or hazardous conditions to management. Perform other duties as assigned.
