Our team of caring professionals work together to make our senior residents feel at home in our communities. Beztak is looking to hire a Medication Technician join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will be primarily responsible for the administration or assisting in the administration of medication and treatments in accordance with a resident's health care provider's orders. You will also be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADL's), providing general supervision, and respecting residents' rights and needs of choice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including; pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation
- Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shifts
- Assists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly manner
- May be called upon to assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility, as needed
- Responds to all residents needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
- Upholds Residents' rights at all times
- Supports and upholds all company policies and care philosophy
- Observes residents for change in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse
- Completes all documentation such as medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, in a timely manner
- Resolves concerns regarding resident care with all constituents in a timely manner
- Ensures proper and timely records reporting in your department in accordance with state and federal guidelines and company standards
- Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPPA and state and federal regulatory training as required
- Attends all required staff meetings and in-service training sessions
- Assists with other duties as assigned
- Working in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, having effective interpersonal skills
- Operating a company vehicle or personal vehicle (as required) to perform job duties.
