Duties Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and safely following all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality. Assist with medication setup, including preparing and labeling medications in compliance with medical documentation standards. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, reporting findings to nursing staff promptly. Maintain detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date. Provide personal care assistance to residents, including tube feeding, catheter care, and memory care support tailored to individual needs. Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility assistance, heavy lifting when necessary, and manual handling techniques to ensure safety. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and address concerns related to medication or health status. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred; experience in hospital or home care settings is also valuable. Demonstrated knowledge of geriatrics, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and senior care best practices. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or EHR platforms used for medical documentation. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications like Basic Life Support (BLS) are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia enhances your ability to provide compassionate memory care. Knowledge of state Board of Nursing regulations and adherence to HIPAA standards ensures compliance in all aspects of medication administration and resident confidentiality. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks associated with resident personal care assistance while maintaining safety protocols.
